Description:

Selector is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pre-Sales System Engineer specializing in Network Observability to join our dynamic team. As a Pre-sales System Engineer, you will play a crucial role in understanding our customers' network requirements and providing them with innovative solutions that enhance their network observability capabilities. You will work closely with our sales team, customers, and internal stakeholders to identify technical needs, develop customized solutions, and ensure successful pre-sales activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand Customer Requirements: Engage with customers to understand their network observability challenges, goals, and technical requirements. Collaborate with the sales team to identify potential opportunities and develop effective strategies.
  • Solution Design: Design and architect network observability solutions based on customer requirements. Leverage your deep understanding of network protocols, monitoring tools, and observability frameworks to develop comprehensive and scalable solutions.
  • Presentations and Demonstrations: Deliver compelling and persuasive technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers. Effectively communicate the features, benefits, and value propositions of our network observability solutions.
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in network observability, staying up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Provide insights and recommendations to customers and internal teams based on your technical expertise.
  • Proof of Concept (PoC): Collaborate with customers to plan and execute successful PoCs to validate the functionality, performance, and effectiveness of our network observability solutions. Work closely with internal teams to coordinate resources and ensure seamless PoC execution.
  • Proposal Development: Support the sales team in creating comprehensive and tailored proposals that address the customers' specific network observability needs. Provide accurate technical information, solution diagrams, and pricing details.
  • Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and technical consultant. Understand their long-term goals and align our network observability solutions to meet their evolving needs.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to the development of technical collaterals, including whitepapers, case studies, and best practice guides. Conduct training sessions for customers and internal teams to enhance their understanding of network observability concepts and solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5-10 years of proven experience as a System Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar role, with a focus on network observability.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, network monitoring tools, and observability frameworks (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow, BGP, VPNs, TCP/IP, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing network observability solutions in complex enterprise environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly desirable.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for customer visits, conferences, and industry events.

Compensation

  • This is a quota-carrying position, with a mix of base salary and commissions
  • Selector Software offers competitive compensation commensurate with experience and capability, along with an excellent benefits package, to qualified Candidates.
  • The pay range for this position is expected to be between $200,000.00 and $275,000.00/year; the pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • The total compensation package for this position also includes equity, medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
